Dermaplaning Treatments
Dermaplaning is one of the most sought-after skin treatments for anyone looking to achieve a truly smooth, luminous complexion without any needles, chemicals, or recovery time. Using a sterile, single-use surgical scalpel held at a precise angle, a trained therapist gently glides the blade across the surface of the skin in short, feathering strokes. This removes the entire uppermost layer of dead and dulling skin cells, along with the fine vellus hair that can trap oil, dirt, and product residue.
One of the most common concerns people have about dermaplaning is whether removing facial hair will cause it to grow back thicker or darker. This is a myth. Vellus hair — the soft, fine hair that covers the face — is entirely different in structure to terminal hair. Shaving or removing it does not alter the hair follicle, so it will always grow back with the same colour, texture, and density as before.
Beyond the immediately visible results, dermaplaning also significantly improves the efficacy of your existing skincare routine. With the barrier of dead skin cells removed, your serums, moisturisers, and treatments are able to penetrate far more deeply and work more effectively. Many clients also notice a dramatic improvement in the way their makeup looks and lasts, as foundation and powder no longer cling to dry patches or sit over fine facial hair.
Dermaplaning works beautifully as a standalone treatment and is also highly effective when combined with other facial treatments such as a chemical peel or HydraFacial, where it can be performed beforehand to maximise product penetration and results. We recommend a course of treatments every 4 to 6 weeks to maintain optimal skin smoothness and radiance.
